We have read the evidence of the Israelites' lack of love for God. Their lack of love towards God, our lack of love towards God if I want to be current especially today, is proven: by love for the world (1Jn2:15). Another proof of lack of love for God in response to his infallible love for us or for the Israelites is undoubtedly the lack of love for the neighbor (1Jn4:20) and the lack of generosity. Although the Israelites were chosen, there are among them hypocrites who are deprived of the goodness of God (Luke 11:42; Jn 5:42) who could not reach the earth promised.

In accepting the manifestation of God's goodness to the children of Israel let me say that there is a fundamental element that is part of the character of God as well. It is the love of God that He showed to this chosen people. Reading the Bible this love is described as sovereign (De 7:8; 10:15), immense (Eph 2:4), faithful (So:17). There specifically I insist on the fidelity of his compared to all our turpitudes, imbalances and hardness of heart...... Etc. Israel is a beneficiary of this infallible, inalienable, pressing and eternal love. It is a love that does not consider merit (De 7:7; Job 7:17). What is extraordinary is that this love is manifested towards perishing sinners whether they are Israelites, miserable people, believers or joyful givers.

His love insures forever. Despite the Israelites grumbling against God still provided for them and by His mercy He led them their promised land and fulfilled all the promises

God's goodness to his chosen people
Three months later, the people are gathered at the foot of Mount Sinai (Ex. 19:1). God's care for his people has been faithful, despite their murmuring and protesting. The heavens rained down the manna that feeds, the smitten rock gave the water that quenches. And now God draws his people's attention to what he has done for them: 'You have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself' (v. 4).
