Yes, in order to get the best out of the vegetable garden, care of the garden should be the first priority.
In the first place, vegetables need to be planted in a well prepared garden. Secondly, the garden must be taken care of when the vegetable plants are out of the soil. The garden must be mulched to ensure there is adequate water in the soil and when sensed to be low, watering should be done. Mulching does not only maintain water in the garden but also prevent the growth of weeds. When the weeds are noticed in the vegetable garden, make sure weeding is done at the right time with immediate effect. This reduces competition for nutrients between vegetables and weeds. Ensure spraying to stop the attack by pesticides. When the number of the crop vegetables are noticed to be high, remove the weaker ones to reduce competition for nutrients. If need be, support the vegetables through staking to prevent them from falling say tomatoes. Ensure proper supervision of the garden to intervene.
